It began with a root.
A face grew from a tree. Branches rose like a crown; roots reached below it. Across them, four words refused to stay quiet: ONE LOVE IS NOT SOFT. On the first shirt, against black, that was enough. One design. One declaration. Plant it deep and see what grows.
The second shirt answered. If the root be holy, so are the branches. The image spread across the whole garment, from crown to root, as if it had outgrown the space it was given. A message planted in one place was never meant to stay there.
And a pride is not made by the Lion alone. The Lioness Knows gave her a place in the story, beside him, not behind him. Equal in strength. Fierce in love. The root could spread worldwide, but this was the moment the pride became whole.
Then someone raised a pair of binoculars.
In each lens stood the Lion. Shirt #4, BEHOLD, THE LION IS HUR!, turned a bold, old-school announcement into a moment of recognition. Not “one day.” Not “maybe.” Look again. He is here. The love at the center of this story was never passive, and now it could be seen.
But seeing is not the same as remembering. The world has a way of wearing down wonder, so Shirt #5, Become as Little Children, changed the light. The Issue #1 mark reappeared peg by peg in Lite-Brite color, glowing from within. The Lion had arrived. This shirt asked whether we could still meet him with open eyes.
Then the page turned.
Shirt #6 was the Cool Lion’s Fantastic First Appearance: a comic-cover entrance, a roar, an axe, a hero stepping fully into view. No shades yet. This was the first appearance, and first appearances matter. The character who had been gathering force through roots, branches, the pride, and the arrival now had a face the world could recognize.
The world noticed. On Shirt #7, The Signal Has Been Hijacked, the scheduled programming broke. Color bars flashed, the CL mark glitched into neon, and the message took over the airwaves. This is where the Cool Lion put on his shades for the first time. You could change the channel, but the declaration would still be there: One Love Is Not Soft!!!
So where does a story go after it has reached every screen?
Back to the words that were there from the beginning.
Shirt #8, Behold, The Lion, closes the eight-shirt chapter with Revelation 5:5. The front calls out the Lion of the Tribe of Juda, the Root of David. On the back, the Lion is formed from the phrase repeated again and again: One Love Is Not Soft. After the branches, the binoculars, the bright pegs, the comic cover, and the hijacked broadcast, the image and the message become inseparable. The chapter ends not by abandoning its art, but by showing what was beneath it all along.
Eight shirts. One unfolding declaration.
Four more doors into the ROAR Family
Issue #1 did not stop at the final chapter. It opened four more doors for the ROAR Family, each a $27 front-print shirt carrying a different frequency of the same world.
Product #9, The Signal, wears a vintage radio badge and the energy of sound-system culture. Turn the dial: CL is still wailing. Product #10, The Root, strips everything back to the red, black, and green CL mark. No scene required. Product #11, The Art, pulls the neon-glitch CL and the shaded Cool Lion out of the broadcast and lets them speak as cropped, vivid, front-only art.
Then Product #12, The Break, refuses to be just a mark. Babylon It’s Time builds a whole scene: an ancient-inspired frog figure at the center of a digital city, code falling around it, red symbols bursting through. It reaches back to the moment of the binoculars and asks what had to break for the Lion to be seen.
The eight premium shirts tell the chapter. The four $27 shirts let you choose how to carry its signal: Signal. Root. Art. Break. Twelve designs, not twelve identical chapters. Different forms, one throughline.
A root was planted. The branches spread. The pride stood together. The Lion appeared, the signal went worldwide, and the words remained.
ONE LOVE IS NOT SOFT.
